1. Start your day with a morning walk or jogging, this will ensure blood circulation in all parts of your body and mind. Meditate yourself and do some meditation and yoga ‘asana’. To stay mentally fit, you have to stay fit physically as well.
2. Set your mind free, you have worked a lot, done a lot for your family, and yourself and now its time for you to enjoy your own life. Set yourself free from any types of worries and you will enjoy your old age life and find you are mentally relaxed and fit. Spent your times with your grand sons, grand daughters and other family members. Read, write, teach and do what ever you like and enjoy. This is the best and easiest way to stay mentally fit at old age.
3. Do some mental exercise. Play some challenging games like chess and solve puzzles when you are free. You can take it as a mental exercise. Imagine while solving a cross word or similar puzzles, your mind is concentrated and you think from various aspects and that’s what we call as the mental exercise. Be creative and try doing some creative works like writing some poems, songs, stories, and paintings.
4. Never hesitate to grab a chance to meet new people of your age. This will help you to share your experiences with them and at the same time an opportunity for you to learn from them. At old age, you need people to interact with, because normally all your sons and grand sons are busy with their own daily assignments and routines. So you have to make your own friends who are of your age and need company to share the joy of old age.
5. Plan your old age while you are young. When you are young you have the ability to work hard and achieve what you think as your body and mind both can support each other. But that’s not the case at old age, even though you are fit enough mentally, your body will not support (at least up to the level of your thirties or forties).So plan what and how would you like to live your old days without worries.
